Spring Updates from the Farm
Welcome to the end of September at Nashama Equine & Wellness Farm. Spring has officially arrived, bringing with it a vibrant display of both native and European flowers throughout the garden. Alongside this seasonal beauty, we are also experiencing the familiar spring winds and mud patches around the farm.

Nashama Wellness Shop
While there are no major new product releases this month, I have been busy finishing several works in progress. I have started a large alpaca blend Romany shawl, which I plan to use during my winter Qigong classes, and have also created some new "Smile to the Heart" HTV t-shirts in sunny yellow and gold for work (I always wear yellow high vis at work).
I do have a couple of new crochet items available:
- · An organic cotton summer shawl, crafted with variegated yarn
- · An alpaca blend winter cowl in a creamy shade
I am always working on something new with natural fibres, so keep an eye on the Textile Art section of the shop. Each piece is unique and made as a one-off, so once it’s sold, it’s gone.
In addition, I have created some organic beeswax room fresheners which are decorative pillars, unicorns, and spaniels. These will be ready in time for Christmas gifts.
Nashama Qigong
I have remained busy with ongoing Qigong courses and workshops. This month, I attended my second weekend of the Three Treasures Course. The focus of this month’s Qigong blog on Patreon is a Medical Qigong perspective of tension headaches.
Nashama Equine & Canine
The wet weather continues to be tough on hooves, including those of our own horses. I had planned to prepare some hoof pack or clay for Aslaan—our "abscess king"—for the shop, but time has simply got away from me. As some clients and their horses have moved on, Glen now has openings for new clients, including those in the Junee and Gundagai areas.
Farm Life
Mud is still a constant presence—both outside and inside, as everything on the farm is shedding at the moment. Wattle season is in full swing, and the lane is lined with golden blossoms. When I turn into the gate, I am greeted by a canopy of plum blossoms and drifts of daffodils, painting a beautiful picture of spring on the property.
Delfire’s Story
Delfire has been unwell again, which is not surprising considering he is 30 years old in human years—the equivalent of a centenarian in horse years. Delfire belonged to our dear friend Yvonne, who entrusted him to us when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
He came to us with a severe back injury, which marked the beginning of our journey with equine bodywork and chiropractic care. Through patience, treatment, retraining, and a commitment to learning bodywork, we were able to rehabilitate Delfire enough for him to participate in some endurance riding with a friend. This journey taught us a great deal—not only about equine care but also about Delfire’s spirited personality.
Until next month!
